On February 4, 2012, I led an Outdoors Club hike through Blue Sky Ecological Reserve and up to Lake Ramona.
We took the usual route along Green Valley Truck Trail through the preserve and up the Lake Ramona dam, but then we continued on Green Valley Truck Trail until we came to a locked gate near the east end of the lake.
Some of the route has been plotted on a USGS topographic map. The map was compiled before the dam was built, so it shows Green Valley Truck Trail running through the valley now filled by the lake. The plot also showed that we turned around about a mile from Highland Valley Road.
