On May 16, 2015, I participated in a special hike along the upper reaches of the San Diego River in Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve East.

The hike was organized by the San Diego River Park Foundation, but it was also posted in the San Diego Day Hikers group on meetup.com.

After that hike, I and some of the other participants hiked the Inaja Nature Trail at Inaja Picnic Ground on C-78/79. However, we got sidetracked did not follow the trail all the way.

Then we drove down to Ramona and drove the entire length of Magnolia Ave. and Black Canyon Rd. all the way to Mesa Grande Rd., stopping to look at the old and new Black Canyon Road bridges, the entrance to Santa Ysabel Truck Trail (which was closed at the time), and the Washtub Falls area.

Black Canyon Rd. is now a well-graded dirt road, easily drivable in a 2WD passenger car. However, it is still very narrow in some places, too narrow for two cars to pass each other.
